How to Order Pre-Terminated Fibre
Ordering a custom pre-terminated fibre optic cable is simple. Follow the steps below to configure your assembly and we’ll manufacture and test it to your specification.
1. Choose Your Fibre Type
Select the fibre type best suited to your application.
- OS2 Singlemode – Ideal for long distance and high bandwidth applications.
- OM3 Multimode – Suitable for 10Gb networks and shorter distance installations.
- OM4 Multimode – Higher performance multimode fibre for demanding network environments.
2. Choose the Number of Cores
Select the fibre count required for your installation.
Typical options include:
- 4 Core
- 8 Core
- 12 Core
- 16 Core
- 24 Core
Higher fibre counts may also be available depending on the cable construction selected.
3. Select Cable Construction
Choose the cable type best suited to your installation:
- Tight Buffered – Flexible indoor cable for patching and internal installations.
- Loose Tube – Suitable for outdoor and longer distance installations.
- Steel Tape Armoured (STA) – Additional mechanical protection.
- Steel Wire Armoured (SWA) – Robust armoured cable for demanding environments.
- Re-deployable Fibre – Temporary or reusable fibre assemblies.
4. Choose Connector Types
Select the connectors required at each end of the cable.
Common options include:
- LC
- SC
- ST
- FC
- E2000
APC (Angled Physical Contact) connectors may also be available on selected fibre types.
5. Choose Tail Configuration
Tail options include:
- Fan-out
- 900µm
- 2.0mm
- 2.4mm
- Staggered tails
Standard tail length is 1 metre unless otherwise specified.
6. Enter the Required Length
Enter the total cable length required in metres.
Standard measurements are gland-to-gland unless an alternative measurement method is requested.
7. Add Any Special Requirements
If you require a specific tail length, connector polish, labelling or other customisation, please add the details to the Notes field when placing your order or requesting a quote.
