What is CST Armoured Fibre Cable?
CST (Corrugated Steel Tape) fibre cable uses a steel tape armour layer for additional mechanical and rodent protection. CST is also sometimes described as STA or Steel Tape Armoured fibre cable.
OS2, OM3 or OM4?
Choose OS2 singlemode for compatible singlemode networks and longer-distance links, or OM3/OM4 for compatible multimode networks. The fibre type must match the optics and other fibre components in the link.
Bulk or Pre-Terminated?
Bulk CST fibre is supplied cut to length for termination during installation. Pre-terminated CST fibre is manufactured with factory-fitted and tested connectors to the required length and configuration.
CST or SWA?
CST uses corrugated steel tape armour while SWA uses steel wire armour. Both provide additional protection but have different construction and installation characteristics.
